Cemali (a duo) have lived and studied both in the US and Turkey, constantly traveling back and forth between the two continents. This constant move enabled them to study the culture and the music of both worlds.
Their progressive sound is a musical fusion of these two worlds which is a unique blend of stirring melodies, alternative electronic rhythms and world beat woven with original contemporary poetry.
Although their sound is rooted in the underground music scenes of San Francisco and London, Cemali has always embraced traditional/ethnic elements to create their unique vibe.
“Duymak Istiyorum” is their debut album released in 1995, “Whirl” is the name of their second album, which was released in U.S. in 1996. Their third album released in 1997 is titled “Yuh-Yuh”. The fourth album titled “Hayat?” is one of their most anticipated albums.
They have been very active within the World Music scene in the U.S. and have collaborated and toured all around the continent with many respected World-Fusion bands.
